The Dad Life!!!!
I (Luke) became a Dad several months ago which is awesome… I was working out a lot back then and even competing, so once my son was born I had to drop from working out twice a day to once a day, and shift from longer workouts to shorter ones.
Why did I do this?
I guess it came down to personal values at the end of the day. I started noticing that my fitness efforts were beginning to have a negative effect on my relationships, with God, my wife, and my son (never mind friends and clients who possibly felt it too!) I was finding after working hard and working out hard I had little time left over to love well, and when I did have time I was just way too tired. Something had to change!!!!
What did I do?
I decided to take a month off doing any workouts. (I thought it would suck at the start but I actually found it really great in the end) this is me at the end of that month (image: left). During that month I got some clarity, I decided I wanted to still aim for the same fitness goals but without sacrificing a healthy life balance. I dropped down to one strategic workout a day, and prioritized God, family and work.
Has it worked?
(Image: right) I still weigh the same and I’m really happy with the results so far.
Why am I telling you this?
